MYUFPC CHAPTER 47

I want to be your support

Jiashan's voice was soft and tender. Even without any intentional effort, the sweetness in her address, "Yanqing," filled Zhan Yue's heart in an instant.

He looked at Jiashan and asked softly, "What did you call me?"

"Yanqing, of course," Jiashan replied without any hesitation, "Should I still call you 'Daren' now that we're married?"

"No," Zhan Yue replied softly, "Calling me Yanqing is fine."

Jiashan smiled.

In fact, Zhan Yue's reaction on their wedding night was quite different from what Jiashan had expected. Clearly, he used to have a rather domineering air when he did those "shameless" things.

How come he became so timid after they got married?

He was almost unrecognizable.

Jiashan looked at him and couldn't help but find it amusing. Zhan Yue's demeanor somehow made the tight string in Jiashan's heart gradually relax.

Jiashan glanced at him and said with a smile, "Su Yu, Dancui, and the others are waiting in the next room. I'll just call them to help me remove my makeup, there's no need to call anyone else."

Zhan Yue nodded, agreeing with Jiashan's suggestion: "That's a good idea. They're used to serving you."

After saying that, he slowly got up from the bed. Zhan Yue was tall, and his pair of typical peach blossom eyes seemed to be curved slightly.

His Adam's apple rolled slightly, and he said slowly, "I'll go to the next room to wash up, and then I'll come back to have dinner with you."

After saying that, Zhan Yue seemed to be a little afraid of seeing Jiashan, the corners of his eyes drooping slightly. He didn't look at her anymore.

"Wait—"

Just as Zhan Yue was about to turn and leave, Jiashan suddenly called out to him. Her voice was clear, her tone seemed far away from Zhan Yue, yet so close at the same time.

Zhan Yue's footsteps stopped, and his back looked very stiff.

Jiashan looked at him carefully for a while and let out a long sigh. She walked over, raised her head to meet Zhan Yue's gaze, and asked softly, "Do you still remember why you married me?"

Jiashan's face was as white as jade, and with the slight drunkenness, she looked like a sweet and lovely beauty. Zhan Yue's tongue and heart felt a little dry.

Without blinking, he replied, "I want to be your support."

"Yes," Jiashan nodded in agreement. She helped Zhan Yue readjust the sash around his waist and said with a low laugh, "I married you because you said you would protect me. It's also so that we can both have someone to rely on."

Jiashan looked up, her eyes shining. She said, "That's the real purpose of our marriage. If this marriage becomes a burden to you now, that would be the most unfortunate thing."

"Right?" Jiashan tilted her head and asked, drawing out her words.

Zhan Yue lowered his head and looked deeply at Jiashan, his eyes filled with uncontrollable tenderness. He nodded, his tongue feeling numb as he said, "Yes."

Jiashan smiled, "I'll wait for you to finish washing up."

Their breaths mingled. As it was their wedding night, Jiashan was still wearing perfume. When she raised her face, a refreshing scent of bergamot filled the air. It was both dignified and charming, fresh and pleasant.

Zhan Yue couldn't help but inhale lightly. He turned his head and said hoarsely, "Alright."

When Zhan Yue returned after washing up, Jiashan had already taken off her phoenix crown and bridal robe, leaving only a vermilion-colored cross-collar blouse on her upper body. She wore a pink brocade horse-faced skirt, a gift from Madam Pei.

Zheng mama had already brought in the food, and in the next room, Su Yu was tidying the bed.

Seeing Zhan Yue return, Zheng mama said kindly, "Fuma, Please come and have some food?"

Zhan Yue nodded and said, "Thank you," before sitting down beside Jiashan. While they were eating, Su Yu had finished making the bed. Among Jiashan's dowry was a quilt embroidered with dragons and phoenixes. It was a special addition to Jiashan's dowry from the Emperor, a symbol of good fortune. Su Yu had been busy with this quilt just now.

Seeing that Su Yu had finished her task and the princess and her Fuma had finished their meal, Zheng mama, tactfully directed the others to clear the table. She smiled and said, "Your Highness, please rest early."

Jiashan's face turned slightly red.

Dan Cui was still dumbfounded, so Zheng mama and Su Yu together dragged her out.

Immediately, there was no one else in the room.

Certain things that were about to happen seemed self-evident.

Jiashan lowered her head and cleared her throat slightly. She asked softly, "Have you finished eating?"

"I had a little bit outside," Zhan Yue's half-face was hidden in the shadow of the dragon and phoenix candles, making it indistinct.

Yet, his slightly hoarse voice lingered in Jiashan's ears, clear and poignant.

He gazed at Jiashan silently for a moment. The candles flickered in the night, as if adding a touch of ambiguity to the atmosphere.

Zhan Yue seemed to feel a little hot, and he loosened his collar slightly. He turned his head slightly, his fingers tightening slightly, and said somewhat unnaturally, "Tonight, I'll sleep in the next room."

Jiashan was startled and suddenly looked up at him. Her eyes were shimmering with water.
